Roofs are one of the more important parts of the home that help protect you against all of natures elements. From rain, snow and ice to snow storms and everything in between, it’s important that your roof is in tip top condition. How is the health of your roof? If you don’t think its up to par, then check out some of these signs that your roof needs to be replaced.

Age : Most asphalt shingle roofs last between 20-25 years depending on how well you maintain it. If you know when your roof was installed then compare it to these dates.

Shingle Buckling & Curling : Take a look at your roof and look for signs that your shingles are curling up or losing granules. If this is a wide spread problem throughout much of the roof, then it may be time to get a replacement.

Missing Shingles : There is no problem with replacing a few shingles here and there. It can become a bigger problem when you are having trouble replacing your shingles with the right color replacement.

Sunlight Exposure through attic : This may be one of the more obvious signs but if you haven’t been in your attic is some time, go during the day and look for any sunlight. If any light, air, or rain gets in then you absolutely need to contact a professional.

Sagging roof: Another obvious but major sign that your roof is in need of replacement is if you see it sagging. If a roof is sagging that usually means there is a structural issue.
